Do not miss Mdina, if you are in Malta

A warm spring day, when the sun floods Mdina, gave us the opportunity to see her in the most beautiful position. Yellowed, calm and abandoned by tourists, seduced us. We were able to enjoy ourselves freely, without being interrupted and we admired his perfection. Movie image or story tab. And us, with us, there.

In the middle of a deserted square, people had started the game. Playing cards lay on the cobblestones and demanded revenge. Happy faces in simplicity. So much freedom around doing anything and even being able to do nothing.

We walked and got lost in the narrow streets, bordered by imposing buildings. The sun's rays were a spectacle. The stone acquires chameleon shades. Above, the sky. So blue and clear that I don't think I've seen him many times before. Here and there a few flowers that appeared out of nowhere laced Mdina and made her ravishing.

We ventured into the inner courtyards, where we had the opportunity, and discovered another world. We sat for a few moments trying to imagine our life beyond the walls. In the middle, the whole sky. Infinite blue above all. And faith.

In one of the stone buildings we met the Knights of Malta.

Hoofbeats would reveal fairy-tale carriages from around the corners. Captivating enough not to let you think too long before you climb. Because Mdina, no matter how attractive it may seem to you, is not complete without such a walk. A charioteer eager to share with you the most hidden secrets of the place starts the story almost before you sit down comfortably. Which is good because time is running out and you are keen to find out as much as possible.

The carriage ride ends only after you have taken a tour of Rabat, which is only a few minutes away. Known for its quiet air, more rural and of natural beauty, it is the place of old family businesses. Here you will find a lot of shops that keep intact the charm of yesteryear and you can reach without problems from Mdina and on foot, being practically on the other side of the road.

Mdina is not only a good location to visit museums or individual points of interest, but the city itself is also worth seeing and experiencing. A multitude of streets and alleys paved with stone slabs, surrounded by a mixture of architectural styles introduced over the centuries, together make an impressive place.
